The Mpumalanga Gambling Board (“MGB”) congratulates former Miss Mpumalanga, Ntandoyenkosi Kunene on being crowned Miss South Africa2016.

It brings us immense satisfaction,as the MGB to witness such a tremendous achievement by a humble young woman from our beautiful Province, whose rise to prominence started with us in 2013, when she was crowned Miss Mpumalanga 2013.

Since the commencement of the Crowning Miss Mpumalanga initiative 6 years ago,the critical mass has always been that the initiative must be able to produce exceptional role models to drive our responsible gambling awareness, and encourage the general public to exercise informed consumer choice in order to make gambling a harmless pastime.

We are extremely gratified that the initiative had indeed produced incredible women leaders, who did not only exceed our expectations but also represented the Province and its people exceptionally well.

These young leaders have, despite the glitter and glamour of the competition, opted to rollup their sleeves,to help the Provincial Government to tackle various challenges facing our communities – through campaigns such as Zazi, Back to school, Responsible gambling, to name but afew.

Ntandoyenkosi is one of those young women who embraced the opportunity and kept refining her dream to reach the top of the pinnacle. Her journey to success; perseverance, hard work and commitment will remain a source of inspiration for our young people; we hope that many will follow in her footsteps.

We assure her of our full support as she continues to bring pride and glory to our beautiful Province. We wish her continued success as she participates in the many activities which lie ahead, we extend our sincere congratulations to her on this memorable and singular achievement.

By the same token, the MGB extends its sincere gratitude to Mzimari Productions for the wonderful partnership in the crowning Miss Mpumalanga initiative. It has been an absolute pleasure for the MGB to be associated with this incredible initiative by Mzimari. We congratulate them for the vision behind such an initiative that has changed many lives and united the people of this Province.

We also wish to record our profound appreciation to the Provincial Government, for supporting us with the necessary resources to sustain the Crowning Miss Mpumalanga initiative since its inception. Looking at the results, the support from our Government is incredible and not in vain.
