MEDIA STATEMENT - MER INTERACT WITH LIQUOR TRADERS IN BALFOUR
The Mpumalanga Economic Regulator (“MER”) held a consultative meeting with liquor associations and relevant stakeholders. This meeting took place at Dipaliseng Municipality in Balfour on Tuesday, 20 February 2018. The purpose of the meeting was to remind liquor traders about the negative impact of non-compliance and irresponsible trading.

The Mpumalanga Economic Regulator “MER” together with the Department of Community Safety Security and Liaison, Local Municipalities, Department of Home Affairs and the Community Policing Forum embarked on a joined workshop on 30 January 2018 where liquor traders were urged to comply with the Mpumalanga Liquor Licencing Act and conditions that comes with their licences. This workshop was held in Delmas together with the liquor traders.
